MATT NESPECA

Field Representative: Savannah River and ACE Basins

Matt holds a BS in Forest Resource Management from Auburn University and an MS in Forest Biology from Virginia Tech. Prior to joining The Nature Conservancy, Matt worked in marketing, technical service, and sales with BASF Corporation, and spent 5 years working with forest landowners in South Carolina. During his 7-year tenure with BASF Corporation, Matt worked with forest herbicide technologies, performing many invasive non-native plant control and ecological restoration projects with landowners throughout the Southeast. In his marketing role with BASF, Matt worked on a US product launch for a new wood preservative, and on projects in the aquatic, turf and vegetation management markets.

Matt joined the Nature Conservancy in spring of 2004, and now works with private landowners, federal, state and local government agencies, as well as other conservation organizations on land protection, science and stewardship projects in the Savannah River and ACE Basins and the surrounding coastal landscape.
