Other Volunteer Opportunities

There is more to our volunteer program than attending the scheduled stewardship workdays. Whether it’s researching the internet, attending events or completing administrative tasks in the office, there are lots of opportunities inside and out.

OUTREACH OPPORTUNITIES:

TNC Presenters: Volunteer Presenters are needed for our Vernal Pool Presentations to various audiences across Pennsylvania. The Training Workshop is scheduled for the evening of Tuesday, February 23rd from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Conservancy’s Harrisburg Office. Vernal Pool Party Hike Leaders: Volunteers are needed for leading our Vernal Pool Party Hikes at our Forest Pools Preserve @ Kings Gap and the Mount Holly Marsh Preserve (both in Cumberland County) as wells as our Minsi Lake Preserve (Northampton County) throughout the last few weeks of March and beginning of April. The Hike Training for Kings Gap is scheduled for the evening of March 4th. OUTDOOR OPPORTUNITY:

New Opportunity Deer Density Research: We are looking for volunteers interested in assisting with Deer Density Research at the West Branch Forest (Clinton County). The Training Workshops are scheduled for Saturday, April 3rd and Tuesday, April 6th. If you are interested in learning more and/or signing up for one of the training workshops to assist us during the 2010 field season, please contact Molly Anderson at molly_anderson@tnc.org or (717) 232-6001, extension 117.

OFFICE OPPORTUNITY:

Volunteer receptionist: Help is needed at the Harrisburg Office on Tuesdays and Thursdays as well as the Long Pond Office on Mondays and Fridays, during business hours (9-5) to answer phones and greet guests as well as help with other administrative projects.
