Forests: The Nature Conservancy’s Forest Conservation Program focuses on a 3.6 million acre conservation network.  If effectively conserved, these areas will sustain the full array of Pennsylvania’s forest types and the species that depend on them.

Freshwater: Home to three great river systems and one of the Great Lakes, PA’s fresh water is vital to the state and much of the eastern US. The Conservancy works to restore natural water flows, recover migratory fish populations, and safeguard globally rare fish and mussel species.

Rare Communities: Relatively small habitats with unusual, even extreme, environments are the most favored sites for many globally rare species and migratory birds.  Despite their small size, these special places – including barrens, vernal pools, and caves – play an important role in the sustainability of ecosystems.

The success of The Nature Conservancy in Pennsylvania relies on the support of communities, businesses and people like you.

  • Volunteer: Volunteers help The Nature Conservancy devote a major portion of its funds to land and water conservation, keeping our effectiveness high and our costs low.

  • Workplace Giving: Pledge a specified amount to be automatically deducted from each pay check.

  • Stock Donation: Gifts of appreciated securities to The Nature Conservancy can be a simple and tax-savvy way to support conservation.

  • Real Estate Donation: Gifts of real estate can frequently save you thousands of dollars in income, estate, and capital gains taxes, while providing a substantial benefit to The Nature Conservancy.

  • Gift & Estate Planning: Deferred gifts are a way to make a lasting contribution to the Conservancy while taking advantage of favorable federal and state tax laws.
