Pontotoc Ridge Preserve

Pontotoc Ridge Preserve

Date:
Saturday, January 23, 2010
8:00 am - 3:00 pm

Overview:
Participants meet at the preserve office, break into groups and survey assigned sections of Pontotoc Ridge Preserve. Each group will tally species and numbers as they move among habitats in vehicles, with frequent stops to look and listen. Participants may embark on hikes to explore areas less accessible. Bring a snack or sack lunch to enjoy in the field, but all groups gather back at headquarters at 2 pm to add numbers over homemade chili (vegetarian chili will also be available) and other tasty foods. If the preserve's home counties are not in a burn ban, there will be a nice fire to warm up to at the headquarters.
