Four Canyon Preserve

Acres for Nature

Help us safeguard Oklahoma's wondrous diversity of life - not just for you and me, but more importantly - for our children and grandchildren. Your gift to the Acres for Nature program will protect and restore some of Oklahoma's most extraordinary and highly threatened places.

Help Out in Oklahoma

The Oklahoma Chapter has a variety of ongoing needs for volunteers - join the cadre of dedicated volunteers who are making a difference.

In the Field

The Oklahoma Chapter operates preserves throughout the state and the staff has ongoing management, surveillance, biological survey, and monitoring projects. Current projects include:

  • Butterfly, bird and bat monitoring
  • Vegetation sampling
  • Fence construction
  • Litter pickup
  • Trail maintenance
  • Painting
  • Plant and animal inventories
  • Seed Collection

Special Events

Volunteers are occasionally needed for special events.

Donate Surplus Equipment

If you have surplus equipment, you can help with the restoration and maintenance of Oklahoma's preserves! Click here for information about what is needed.

At the Tallgrass Prairie Preserve

The Tallgrass Prairie Docent Program staffs the Preserve's visitor center. Docent training is held each winter and the visitor center is open from mid March through mid December.

The Oklahoma Chapter appreciates and values the contributions of time, effort, and special skills which you, as a volunteer, bring to The Nature Conservancy. Your actions increase the organization's ability to protect the natural heritage of Oklahoma.
