Conservation is the protection, preservation, management, or restoration of natural resources such forests, soil and water. A conservationist is a person who advocates the conservation of natural resources.
Some conservationists are scientists, lawyers, bankers, marketing managers, volunteers, teachers, and students. Some conservationists specialize in protecting wild animals or plants. Other conservationists care about wild places like deserts, wetlands and rivers.
There are even conservationist who work to preserve fresh air, clean water, forests for lumber, minerals, and soil for farming.
Some conservationists are scientists who do research or work with the government or corporations. Some may live right in the wilderness where they work on their conservation projects. A conservationist may publish papers about their research and may help others learn about natural resources and how to protect them.
