About the Conservation Education Initiative

Thanks to the insight of the Kirkpatrick Foundation, the Conservation Education Initiative was formed in the fall of 2007 as a consortium of educators through the Oklahoma Environmental Education Coordinating Committee in partnership with The Nature Conservancy to complement and enhance the conservation education curriculum presented to school age children in Oklahoma.

Students are very important to conservation. And conservation is very important to students. It will be you conserving and protecting the incredibly beautiful landscapes and endangered habitats in Oklahoma. It is important that you know about protecting and managing our natural resources, now and for the generations to come.
