Signing Up For Volunteer Projects
If you would like to volunteer, there are just 4 simple steps: fill out an application, register for the project, check your email during the week of the project (we will email a map and project details) and report your volunteer time.
STEP 1: Application
To ensure that we notify you if the project is cancelled, we kindly request that you fill out a volunteer application at the link below AND register for projects. We will not share your information with other organizations. http://www.nature.org/wherewework/northamerica/states/ohio/volunteer/art10750.html
STEP 2: Register
To register, complete the volunteer sign-up form at the link below.
http://www.nature.org/wherewework/northamerica/states/ohio/volunteer/art21195.html
Please note that you will not hear from us right away. You will receive an email with a map to the meeting location and project details on the Thursday before the project.
To receive project details including a map to the project location you must fill out an application AND complete a volunteer sign-up form.
STEP 3: Check your email
Check your email on the Thursday before the project. If your registration was successful, you will receive an email with a map and project details. If you do not receive an email, your registration was not successful. Please contact Barbara Bhattacharya, Volunteer Program Coordinator, at bbhattacharya@tnc.org or 614-717-2770 ext. 142 or contact the Crew Chief. Crew Chief phone numbers can be found in the volunteer section of www.nature.org/ohio or by clicking on this link:

STEP 4: Report your volunteer time
During the first week of each month an email will be sent to you requesting that you report your volunteer time online. If you do not receive an email, please report your time anyway. You may send an email to bbhattacharya@tnc.org or 614-717-2770 ext. 142 or mail your hours. Please include your name, address, phone number, date of volunteer service, task, time spent volunteering, round trip drive time (if applicable) and preserve name (if applicable). A paper reporting form is included with this mailing. Please report your time even if you signed the sign-in form on the project day. This is an extremely important step in the volunteer process. It is important because:
• In some cases your volunteer time counts as “match” for grant funding
• It provides us with concrete data to use in securing grant funding
• It enables us to recognize you when you reach volunteering milestones
• It proves that we have community support for the work we do
