Buckthorn Control

Date/Time:
Saturday, May 31st, 10:00 am to 2:00 pm

Overview:
This is the only project at Beck Fen this spring. Don’t miss this opportunity to see Beck Fen this time of year! Help us battle this invasive plant that leafs early in the spring and retains its leaves late into the fall. If we didn’t control this invasive it would quickly out-compete native plants for nutrients, sunlight and moisture. Rare flowers that might be blooming in the preserve this time of year are the wand-lily, northern bayberry, and showy lady’s slipper.
