Hickory Nut Gorge

When: Tuesday, June 3, 2008

Where: Hickory Nut Gorge

Time: 8:30 a.m. to mid-afternoon

Details: Help in the battle against hemlock wooly adelgid, an invasive forest pest that threatens trees in Hickory Nut Gorge. The work is somewhat strenous, and volunteers will have to be capable of "bushwhacking" 1/2 mile into the site up a very steep slope carrying tools and water. You must register for this workday. Directions for the meeting point will be provided upon registration.

Please bring:

  • lunch and water
  • sturdy work gloves and work boots
  • raingear if appropriate
