Bow Hunting Season Set at Nags Head Woods Preserve
Hunters must complete application form, take orientation session
NAGS HEAD WOODS, NC — July 27, 2009 — The Nature Conservancy will allow bow hunting for white-tailed deer in the Nags Head Woods Preserve; the annual hunt is designed to manage the deer herd and ensure that it remains healthy. The regular hunting season runs September 12 through January 1. Interested hunters must complete an application form which includes a $50 fee (to cover the cost of hunt administration and liability insurance) and attend an orientation session.
All orientation sessions are held at Nags Head Woods Preserve, 701 West Ocean Acres Drive, Kill Devil Hills. Sessions are scheduled for:
- Wednesday August 26, 8:00 a.m.
- Thursday August 27, 6:00 p.m.
- Wednesday September 2, 6:00 p.m.
- Thursday September 3, 6:00 p.m.
