The NY Natural Heritage Program is a partnership between The Nature Conservancy and the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation whose mission is to enable and enhance the conservation of New York’s biodiversity.  Based in the DEC, the Program is staffed with more than 20 Conservancy scientists and specialists with expertise in ecology, zoology, botany, information management, and computer mapping systems.
