
1. The contest is open to amateurs and professionals alike.
2. Entries may be color or black and white. They may be digital (.jpg) or prints. Digital photos must be no larger than 800x600 pixels and no smaller 640x480 pixels. Digital photos must be, at a minimum, 72dpi. Printed photos must be 8”x10.” Please do not send slides. Please be aware that The Nature Conservancy is unable to return any submitted materials.
3. You must be the sole author and owner of the copyright in all photos entered. Photos must not have been published elsewhere. Images must not have been digitally altered in any way.
4. 3 submissions per entrant, please.
5. Please include the following details with your submission: your name and e-mail address, a title for the photo, a brief statement about your thoughts about the photo, and where and when the photo was taken. Please do not put names, logos or writing on photo entries.
6. Photos must have some aspect of nature as the main subject. People or structures may be in the picture, but the main focus of the photo should be nature-related.
7. By submitting to this contest, you agree that your photos can be used on The Nature Conservancy’s website with appropriate credit - the photographer retains all copyrights. Your photo will not be used in any manner for our profitable gain.
8. First, second and third place awards will be chosen. Winners will be notified via e-mail as soon as judging is complete. Winning and honorable mention photos will be published in the photo gallery on nature.org/newyork.
