10:30 am – 2:30 pm

Overview:
Fire observers once watched the forests of New York State and the Catskill Mountains from 108 towers, searching for the dangerous tell tale signs of forest
fires. Join us for a hike to the Red Hill Fire Tower, one of the five remaining steel towers built between 1917 and 1927. Hikers will delight in the fall foliage and spectacular views of Frost Valley and the
Catskill High Peaks. Hikers should pack a lunch to eat at the tower.

Distance: 2.5 miles. Terrain: Relatively easy. Maximum Capacity: 20.

What to bring: Water, sunscreen, bug spray, comfortable footwear, snacks, and a bag lunch for all hikes over three hours. Cameras and binoculars are always great to have. Each hike has a limited capacity so reserve early. Hikes are free for all.

Registration:
Send a reservation request to Marie Jones at mjones@tnc.org. Please include your name(s), address, phone number and email address. If children are hiking, please include their names and ages in your reply.
After submitting your request, you will receive a confirmation email with driving directions and other logistical details. We will add your name to our chapter email list to keep you informed of future programs.
