Date/Time:
Saturday, May 31, 2008
Departure from NYC: 9:30 a.m.
Return to NYC: 4-5:00 p.m.

Overview:
Explore the calm waters of the Great Swamp from a canoe!  The Great Swamp is one of the largest wetlands in New York State, stretching nearly 20 miles and covering nearly 6,000 acres.

All canoeing equipment will be provided as well as a brief primer on canoeing in preparation for our day. A lifeguard will be present to ensure further ease of our trip. We will be out on the water by 11:30 for a leisurely trip out and back which will last about 2.5 hours, with time for lunch upon our return.

Registration/Fee:
Participants are expected to bring their own lunch (snacks will be provided), and a donation is requested to cover trip costs. In addition to equipment rental and basic trip costs ($30/pp), additional costs will include rental cars/gas ($15-30/pp). Final trip costs will be calculated after all participants RSVP.

Due to very limited space, this event is open only to Young Professionals Group members. RSVPs will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis. Please RSVP to ypgevents@tnc.org.

Location:
We will be meeting at various locations throughout Manhattan and are organizing a carpool. If you have a car and would like to come, please let us know.
