Date/Time:
Saturday, May 17
10:00 - 11:00am

Overview:
The Rome Sand Plains are one of only a handful of inland pine barrens in the nation.  Spring is the best time to see the explosion of blue flowers covering the sand dunes and the small butterflies that need the flowers for their survival.

Bring the family and walk the 1/4-mile trail that will lead us to a sand dune where you will discover why the dunes and wild blue lupine are here. Keep your senses on alert for the frosted elfin butterflies fluttering by the lupine.

This is a short, fairly level hike that is perfect for youngsters and the young at heart.

Registration/Fee:
The hike is free and open to the public but reservations are required by May 14.  Please contact Chris Lajewski at (315) 387-3600 x22 or clajewski@tnc.org.

Location:
