Conservancy staff are using state-of-the-art science to assess millions of acres of Bureau of Land Management grasslands in New Mexico.

Evidence indicates the condition of southwestern grasslands has declined due to climate, land-use and other factors. Working with BLM and the U.S. Agricultural Research Service, the Conservancy is preparing analyses that depict current condition and restoration opportunities. The BLM will hopefully use these reports along with other resources to guide its land management strategies.

Learn about other key species threatened by climate change—and how The Nature Conservancy is working around the world to reduce this threat to animals and people.
