Date:
Friday, July 18, 2008

Time:
7:30 pm - 10:00 pm

Overview:
Celebrate summer with an evening stroll, watching the full moon rise over the Conservancy's Johnsonburg Swamp Preserve. First, we'll walk the preserve in the hopes of catching a glimpse or a sound of an owl, and then head out to High Rocks for a look out over Mud Pond (locally known as Mystery Pond). Here, we'll listen for the awakening of the preserve's nocturnal life. Mystery Pond, at the heart of the preserve, is a limestone wetland providing excellent habitat for waterfowl, owls and other wildlife.  The scenic limestone outcrops that overlook the pond are the largest rock formations of their kind in the state.
