Together, we have been able to save thousands of life-sustaining acres right here in New Hampshire for people and nature. Thank you for supporting us and for caring about our most valued resource – our Earth. Without your support we would not have been able to help protect more than 265,000 acres of critical natural lands here in New Hampshire.
It’s no secret that we’ve entered challenging economic times, and yes, the current financial climate is discouraging. Nonetheless, the need for support is extraordinarily high across all types of non-profits, groups who perform incredible acts of charity for mankind every day. Conserving our life giving planet is as tangible and fundamental as it gets – our success today protecting our lands and waters helps secure hope for our children and future generations. Our earth is, after all, our most valuable resource.
The need is here now and your support of the New Hampshire Chapter is more important than ever. Your gift, made even in times of uncertainty, proves that the spirit of giving is alive and well -- you can be assured that our staff and trustees are committed to our mission even in the leanest of times.
You can be confident that your investments in The Nature Conservancy are put to good use protecting nature for future generations. We have consistently received high marks from Charity Navigator and the American Institute of Philanthropy, and we meet all BBB Wise Giving Alliance Standards for Charity Accountability.
You can also help to protect our earth one acre at a time. Consider supporting our chapter with an unrestricted gift, which is most important at this time. You can do so right from the comfort of your armchair by donating online.
Or choose to participate in the Great Bay Challenge. The Great Bay Resource Protection Partnership has passed the 5,000 mark in the number of acres protected since its first project in 1996. Right now we are working with eight landowners to protect approximately 400 additional acres through land acquisitions and conservation easements. The cost to protect these very important lands for people and nature is $4.3 million in public and private funds, with only $36,000 in private donations left to raise.
We have an immediate and exciting opportunity -- for every dollar that is pledged or raised by December 22nd, a private foundation will match the remaining $36,000 $1 for $1. – please consider a gift to help us meet this goal!
If you would like to make a gift to the Great Bay Challenge, please contact Tiffany McKenna at 603.224.5853, extension 15 or tmckenna@tnc.org.
As always, you may make a donation to the New Hampshire Chapter by sending a check directly to our field office:
