Date/Time:
Saturday, October 25, 2008
from 1:30 - 3:30pm
Sheldrick Forest Preserve, Wilton
Overview:
Please join TNC and Mycologist Lawrence Millman for a mushroom foray through this old and majestic forest. During the walk, you will learn where to find mushrooms, how to identify them, and -- perhaps most important of all -- the role they play in keeping an ecosystem healthy. Even if the weather is dry, Lawrence guarantees finding at least 30 different species of fungi in the forest.
Bring a hand lens ( if you have one), a pocket knife, and a basket.
Please RSVP for this event with Gail Coffey @ 603-224-5853 x 21 or through email to gcoffey@tnc.org.
Note: This event will not focus on edible mushrooms.
