Volunteer GroupDiggingJune June 14, 2009

The Nature Conservancy was lucky to have a solid group of volunteers come out to McCarran Ranch this afternoon to help prepare a nursery area and plant Volunteers getting ready to plantnative grasses. Once these grasses fill out, they will be transplanted to other Nature Conservancy restoration sites.

Following the work, Preserve Manager Chris Sega showed his skills go beyond impressive river restoration projects by grilling up some delicious burgers. Dinner, snacks and a particularly good chocolate cake were enjoyed by all while watching the newly completed Truckee River Restoration video and having questions answered by Truckee River Project Manager Patti Bakker.
