Sunday, May 3rd, at Lockwood Park was the kick-off for volunteering with The Nature Conservancy in 2009.

As nature can do, a curve ball was thrown at the volunteer team in the form of chilly temperatures, rain and wind. Nevertheless, a hardy herd of 18 arrived to install protective barriers around new plantings, pick up flood debris and share their great attitudes and common interests.

The Nature Conservancy is so happy and appreciative for such a great start and looks forward to many future projects...hopefully in more friendly weather.
