The Setting
Land protected for wildlife surrounds the ranch. To the west, snow capped peaks jut skyward from the Bob Marshall Wilderness, part of the largest wilderness complex in the lower 48 states. On the plains just east of the ranch, The Nature Conservancy's private 18,000-acre Pine Butte Swamp Preserve protects lush wetlands, rolling prairies, brilliant wildflowers, and abundant animal life including bears, badgers, coyotes, and many bird species.

Pine Butte Guest Ranch is located in west-central Montana, 27 miles west of the town of Choteau and two hours south of Glacier National Park.

Facilities
The Ranch accommodates up to 25 guests in ten rustic, yet comfortable cabins set among the aspens, cottonwoods, and firs that line the South Fork of the Teton River. Built of native stone and wood, each cabin is complete with fireplace, private full bath, and handmade hardwood furniture.

The central lodge with its huge fireplace and homey front porch provides a perfect spot for guests to gather, settle in, and get to know each other. The Natural History Center, a large cozy cabin next to the lodge, houses reading materials, photographic exhibits, maps, fossils, and a small gift selection.

Family-style meals, served in the lodge dining room, feature healthful food presented with simple grace. Each meal is a delicious event emphasizing garden-fresh produce and unrivaled homemade breads, soups, and pastries.
