Winter Tracking on the Crown of the Continent
Date:
February 27 - February 28, 2010
Time:
Full day activities
Overview:
Enhance your enjoyment of winter in Montana by learning to identify the animals that share the landscape. This outing will help you recognize clues such as tracks, gait patterns and use of habitat that can increase your chances of spotting wildlife on your own. The course is taught by the experienced outfitter-naturalists at Northwest Connections – partners with the Conservancy on the Montana Legacy Project. Given their skills and knowledge, it’s likely that you’ll see traces of wildlife from tiny voles to the enigmatic mountain lion.
The 2-day workshop will combine classroom demonstrations with trips to the field.
Leaders:
Melanie and Tom Parker, skilled outfitter-naturalists from Northwest Connections.
How to Prepare for the Workshop:
A clothing and equipment list will be provided when you register.
