Hiking the Rocky Mountain Front '08
Hiking Wright Ridge © Eric Bergman |
Date:
September 7-14, 2008
Time:
Full day activities
Overview:
Vibrant September colors that paint the dramatic Rocky Mountain Front landscape each autumn provide a spectacular backdrop for hiking and nature study. Although the weather can be unpredictable and participants should be prepared for all conditions, the month of September typically boasts crystal clear, cool days ideal for walking and exploring. Moreover, this remote region in north central Montana is renowned for abundant wildlife and ample solitude.
Each day our naturalists will offer different hikes that vary in length and difficulty depending on the requests of our participants. Our intention is to allow our guests to take on some of the more challenging hikes available along the Rocky Mountain Front while still providing interpretive information from the naturalists. However, this week is not intended to be merely a "destination-oriented" hiking week. We hope to tailor the expeditions each day to the wishes of those who visit us.
Leaders:
Leading the group will be Pine Butte Guest Ranch naturalists Eric Bergman and David Cronenwett.
Cost:
Cost for this week is $1700 per person, which includes airport shuttle service to/from Great Falls, food, and lodging at Pine Butte Guest Ranch. We require a non-refundable deposit of $500 per person in order to hold your reservation.
