Details for Choptank Wetlands-Hog Neck

This preserve presents some unique challenges for posting boundaries--it requires a boat.  We will need a volunteer with boating and navigation skills and preferably a team of two. This preserve will not require frequent visits because it is so out of the way we seldom have problems here.  It is a beautiful area and for someone who loves to get out on the water this would be a great excuse to launch your canoe.

Some other challenges on the portions of this boundary that have to be walked include swampy wet terrain, greenbrier, chiggers and ticks.  The best time to do boundary work will be the late fall when the ticks are down but before it turns really cold, or early spring before plants green up again.  Avoid doing the work during the hunting season as this preserve is hunted.
