To register for a volunteer workday, please send an email to volunteersmaine@tnc.org with your name and contact information and the event you are interested in. We will send you a confirmation and further information on workday tasks, where to meet, what to wear, and tools to bring. Workdays are limited to 12 participants. Check back occasionally to see new additions to the schedule.

Our 2009 Volunteer Workday Schedule includes:

Morse Mountain Conservation Area, Phippsburg
Sunday, May 3 from 9 am to 2 pm
Join the Conservancy, Bates College and Maine Audubon Society for our annual beach cleanup and installation of piping plover fencing on Seawall Beach.

Berry Woods Preserve, Georgetown
Saturday, May 9 from 9 am to 2 pm.
Pitch in for this all-around spring clean-up of the trail system, including repairs to eroded stretches, and the blazing and clearing of a new section of trail within a preserve addition.

Mill Point Preserve, Arrowsic
Friday, May 15 from 9 am to 2 pm
Join us for a general preserve clean up, with a focus on several historic dumps on the preserve.  

Crockett Cove Preserve, Deer Isle
Wednesday, May 20 from 9 am to 2 pm
Barred Island Preserve, Deer Isle
Thursday, May 21 from 9 am to 2 pm
Help Conservancy stewardship repair eroded trail sections through installation of water bars and bog bridges, paint trail blazes, and replace preserve signage.

The Basin Preserve, Phippsburg
Saturday, June 6 from 9 am to 2 pm. Celebrate National Trails Day by helping to repair sections of trail, including construction of waterbars and other erosion control structures.

Saco Heath Preserve, Saco
The following Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.: April 18th, May 16th, June 20th, July 18th, August 15th, Sept 19th, and October 17th
Help replace and repair sections of the boardwalk trail that takes our visitors through a raised bog.
