Date:
Monday, July 21st, 2008

Time:
Noon - 2 p.m.

Overview:
Photographer Bridget Besaw and author Tom Slayton will be at Frontier Café in Brunswick, ME to present compelling photographs and readings from their book Wildness Within, Wildness Without; Exploring Maine's Thoreau-Wabanaki Trail.

Inspired by Henry David Thoreau’s extensive travels through northern Maine, Besaw will take attendees on a stunning visual journey along the famous Thoreau-Wabanaki Trail to show various ways people treasure the North Woods of Maine. Slayton, author of Searching for Thoreau, will also tell us more about Thoreau’s travels through the region.

The Nature Conservancy in Maine has been working extensively in the North Woods. Mount Katahdin, Moosehead Lake and the Penobscot River are just a few of the places Besaw has photographed.

Besaw will donate ten percent of all sales of Wildness Within, Wildness Without sold at this event to The Nature Conservancy in Maine. We hope you can join us for this special afternoon.

Registration/Fee:
This event is free and open to the public.  Food and drink can be purchased prior to the program from the café at Frontier.

Besaw's book can be purchased at the event with cash or check (credit cards will not be accepted).

To register, please email Jo Cooley at jcooley@tnc.org.
