Experience It. Protect It.
Maine’s Thoreau-Wabanaki Trail Through the Eyes of Bridget Besaw Gala Opening: Artist Appearance: Overview: Step into Portland's Domaine Gallery and into Bridget Besaw’s work as she helps us reconnect with nature. This photography exhibit will feature Besaw’s dazzling images from the pages of her book Wildness Within, Wildness Without; Exploring Maine's Thoreau-Wabanaki Trail. Each image reminds us of the importance of preserving Maine’s North Woods, which were once traveled by Henry David Thoreau. Nearly 70 photos in total, Besaw shows us that mankind’s footprint does not need to be heavy, and her work inspires stewardship more than these same scenes ever could without their human subjects. Come and meet the artist at a Gala Opening on the evening of Friday, July 25th. The opening will include a representative from The Nature Conservancy discussing conservation of Maine’s North Woods. Also, visit with Bridget during her afternoon appearance at the gallery on Saturday July, 26th. The Nature Conservancy in Maine has been working extensively in the North Woods. Mount Katahdin, Moosehead Lake and the Penobscot River are just a few of the places Besaw has photographed. Besaw will donate ten percent of all sales of her book and prints sold at this event to The Nature Conservancy in Maine. Besaw's book can be purchased at the event with cash, check, or credit card.
