August 01, 2009: Explore Crystal Bog
Join us on a guided hike at Crystal Bog in Aroostook County and learn about stewardship in this raised circumneutral bog that supports a number of rare Maine species, including orchids.

August 08, 2009: Explore Wells Barren
Join Southern Maine Preserves Manager, T. Parker Schuerman, for this easy hike to see a pristine stream, beautiful springs and a rare forest type.

August 15, 2009: Explore the Ice Caves in the Debsconeag Lakes Wilderness Area
This hike will cover a new trail opened in the fall of 2009 and traverse forests strewn with enormous glacial boulders while offering spectacular views of Mount Katahdin. The Ice Cave and JoMary Mountain overlook reward hikers with a unique destination.
