Invasive Plant Awareness Month Acitivity:  Governor Beshear declared September to be Invasive Plant Awareness Month.  To mark the occasion we had a Weed Eradication day at the Sally Brown Nature Preserve on Saturday, September 12.  Thanks to everyone who helped us eradicate bush honeysuckle.

EARTH DAY TREE PLANTING:  With help from 30 staff and volunteers from across the Commonwealth, The Nature Conservancy of Kentucky was able to celebrate Earth Day by planting hundreds of willow trees surrounding Buck Creek, an area considered one of Kentucky’s most outstanding natural resources.

Volunteers needed for Event Tables:  The volunteers would set up a display table, keep the handouts stocked, talk to the public about The Nature Conservancy, and take down the display at the end of the event.  If you are interested in volunteering to staff an event table, please contact Cadell Walker at 859-259-9655, ext. 29 or cadell_walker@tnc.org.

General Special Event Volunteers:  The Nature Conservancy is in need of volunteers for our special events. Special events currently take place on a quarterly basis. Additional special events may happen in between scheduled quarterly events. The Conservancy is in the planning stages for our first big annual fundraising event and will need volunteers for huge undertakings as well.  Interested?  Email us at cadell_walker@tnc.org.
