Why the Conservancy Selected This Site
This forest tract is part of the large Pine Mountain landscape, which has several sections of high ecological significance. Long-term conservation goals include most of the mountain. This tract was offered to The Nature Conservancy as a gift from Mabel Mullins, in order to preserve the land in its natural state.

What the Conservancy Has Done/Is Doing
The Nature Conservancy is protecting the forest from human disturbance and exploring its biological features.
