Transplanting Native Plants in the Greenhouse
Come celebrate the first day of Spring, sweet-warm-sunshine-no-more-dreary-weather-Spring, with us at the Kankakee Sands Greenhouse. We will be transplanting the seedlings of plants native to Newton County from germination flats into small square pots. They will be part of a Kankakee Sands Restoration Planting later in the year. It can get quite warm in the greenhouse (~ 90°), so bring clothing options, from a jacket to a short-sleeved shirt. Sunglasses and a hat are also often useful.
Meet at the Kankakee Sands Nursery located across from North Newton High School, 1492 W 250 N in Newton County.
RSVPs are greatly appreciated. Please contact Alyssa Nyberg at (219) 285-2184 or at anyberg@tnc.org.
