Unfortunately, some of the plant species available to gardeners are invasive; that is, these plant species can move from the garden into our forests, prairies, and wetlands, causing a great deal of damage to our native plants and wildlife. Private landowners, agencies, and land trusts in Indiana spend hundreds of thousands of dollars each year trying to control the spread of invasive species.
