Film Festival Benefits Silver Creek Conservation

Enjoy fly fishing films while helping stream conservation, open space

Ketchum, Idaho --  May 25, 2009-- Silver Creek Outfitters presents another amazing line-up of fly fishing films 7 p.m. Friday, June 26 at the Next State Theatre in Ketchum.

All proceeds benefit conservation work at The Nature Conservancy's Silver Creek Preserve.

The festival includes  the best 2009 independent fly fishing films, selected by Silver Creek Outfitters guides.

Tickets are $15 in advance. Seating is limited; phone 208-726-5282 to place your order.

Proceeds benefit fire restoration projects and land protection work at Silver Creek. In August 2008, fires burned a significant portion of the preserve as well as the nearby Picabo Hills. The Conservancy and partners have been actively engaged in restoring burned areas with native grasses and shrubs, and ensuring that bare soil does not run off into the creek.

Additionally, the Conservancy is working to purchase a conservation easement on the property just south of the preserve, directly across from the visitor center. This working farm is one of the last unprotected properties adjacent to the preserve.

The Conservancy would like to thank Silver Creek Outfitters for their continued support of our conservation work. With their help--and yours--we can ensure Silver Creek remains a special place for future generations to enjoy.
