Rivers run through us, but can Blaine County retain its clean water--and quality of life--with rapid growth and changing water use? Our second symposium explores the future of our waters for drinking, recreation and working lands. Join The Nature Conservancy for a day of educational speakers, and the chance for your own thoughts to be heard.
A Watershed Event
A Symposium on Silver Creek and the Big Wood River
9 am - 6 pm, Saturday, October 27
Sun Valley Inn, Continental Room
Tickets: $50, available from The Nature Conservancy at 208-788-8988, or fax or mail this registration form.
The event includes lunch and a reception following the symposium featuring the music of Bruce Innes.
The Nature Conservancy held its first Silver Creek Symposium in October 2003 to share the latest research on the popular preserve, and to solicit feedback from community members. That community focus continues with the second symposium, which focuses on water usage and how we can balance the diverse--and growing--demands on our resource.
Silver Creek is recognized as a model for community-based conservation. Working together, we can meet new challenges and ensure that this watershed remains a special place with incredible insect hatches, rising trout, abundant wildlife, working farms and ranches and world-class outdoor recreation. We hope you join us for a day spent exploring how water connects us all--
