The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) announced today that The Nature Conservancy and Mâlama Maunalua’s Invasive Algae Removal project will receive support from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) to create 73 new jobs and restore healthy marine habitat in East Honolulu’s Maunalua Bay

January 15, 2001: Nature Conservancy Adds 1,800 Acres to Its Honomalino Preserve in South Kona
The Nature Conservancy of Hawai`i today announced its purchase of an additional 1,800 acres adjacent to its Honomalino Preserve in South Kona on the island of Hawai`i. The $1 million purchase of the neighboring Kapu`a parcel was made possible by a donation of nearly half the property's value by seller Leighton Mau and funding from the U.S. Forest Service.
