'Nature of Business' Themed-Breakfast Recognizes Corporate Support for the Environment

The Coca-Cola Company CEO to Give Keynote Address, The Nature Conservancy’s Corporate Council for the Environment Contributions Recognized on May 11, 2006

Atlanta— More than 60 of Georgia’s corporations and businesses will be recognized on Thursday, May 11, 2006 for supporting critical conservation efforts to protect Georgia’s last remaining natural places during The Nature Conservancy’s annual “Nature of Business” breakfast.  The event will be held at the Cherokee Town Club in Atlanta, beginning at 7:30 a.m. and the keynote address will be given by Neville Isdell, chairman and CEO of The Coca-Cola Company.

“Georgia’s business community plays an important role in protecting the natural resources in our state,” said Tavia McCuean, vice president and state director of The Nature Conservancy in Georgia.  “We are all stewards of our land.  With the support of business small and large, The Nature Conservancy is better poised to make a positive difference in protecting the forests, rivers, coastline and other natural places that make our state a great place to live and work.”

Sponsored by Perkins+Will, a world leader in sustainable architecture and design, The Nature Conservancy’s Corporate Council for the Environment Breakfast showcases and recognizes Georgia businesses that demonstrate a strong environmental ethic and have supported The Nature Conservancy’s conservation work in Georgia.

Neville Isdell, chairman of the board of directors and CEO of The Coca-Cola Company, will give the keynote address.  In fact, the connection to conservation and protection of habitat for wildlife runs in the Isdell family.  Pamela Isdell, wife of Neville Isdell, sits on the board of trustees for The Nature Conservancy in Georgia.

As a global corporation, The Coca-Cola Company believes that environmental stewardship is central to its corporate strategy and intrinsic to business growth.  The Company is committed to changing the way it operates by using less water, less energy, and fewer raw materials and regularly reports on improved water use ratios, increased energy efficiency and improved recycling efforts.

"A sustainable business plan and a sustainable environment go hand in hand,” said Neville Isdell, chairman and CEO of The Coca-Cola Company. “It is in the long-term interest of both the communities where we operate and our business to be good stewards of our shared resources,"
