GIS Analyst Internship

The Conservancy’s Northeast Florida Program is looking for a GIS Analyst student (or professional) that would be interested in an unpaid internship volunteering a minimum of 8 hours per week in Jacksonville, FL. 

Duties:
The GIS volunteer would assist conservation staff with various tasks related to map production and data development; creating maps for land management, restoration, and acquisition efforts; assisting the land acquisition staff with GIS requests as needed; organizing digital files of surveys; preparing AutoCAD data for insertion into Conservancy databases; and performing Geoprocessing tasks and editing operations in ArcMap.

Qualifications include a college/university student or GIS professional working in the occupational area of GIS, preferable with existing experience in the use of ArcGIS 9 software and a natural resources background.

Receptionist

The Conservancy’s Northeast Florida Program is looking for a receptionist with docent responsibilities that would be interested in volunteering a minimum of 8 hours per week in the Jacksonville, FL office located at 9953 Heckscher Drive, 32226.

Duties:
The volunteer would assist conservation staff with greeting visitors interested in touring the National Park Service’s ‘Broward House’ which houses TNC’s staff. The house is a historic landmark on the national register and the docent would be the face to the program that provides historical information to visitors. The volunteer would also assist in answering phone calls, light maintenance, and other conservation needs projects.
