If the Caribbean is a state of mind, most Floridians can arrive there quickly by closing our eyes. We escape to pale turquoise waters, soft breezes and soothing sounds of nature.
But recently, the world’s leading marine scientists found that human impact to the Caribbean is among the highest anywhere on Earth. This threatens Florida’s backyard and it got our attention!
Thanks to a generous gift from a Florida donor, who provided $100,000 as incentive to encourage contributions from others, the Conservancy launched a fundraising effort to support the Caribbean nations’ exciting and important work. Your gift will help provide park rangers, patrol boats, on-the-ground scientists, education programs and more. Funding for the Caribbean Quest will help protect one of nature’s most spectacular displays of beauty, now and into the future.
Florida’s natural systems have much in common with our Caribbean neighbors, and the Conservancy has shared resources and expertise with them for decades.
