Faces of Conservation
Pamela Biddle Pamela Biddle may be new to The Nature Conservancy’s Delaware chapter, but she’s no stranger to the organization. “My mom has served on the national and Maryland chapter boards, and my husband served on the board of the Eastern New York chapter,” shares Biddle. “So it’s a family affair!” Biddle holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History from the University of Virginia and a Masters of Social Work from New York University. She worked for a decade as a social worker in the New York City foster care system and in the Westchester, New York public schools. Twelve years ago, she and her husband purchased a small equestrian retail business, which grew to become one of the largest English tack stores on the east coast. After selling the business to a regional chain, she moved her family to Delaware’s Brandywine Valley, where she used to visit her maternal grandparents. “It’s beautiful and open here, which I love as an equestrian,” adds Biddle. “I also want to preserve Delaware’s landscapes for the enjoyment of its visitors and residents, and so that my young daughter can continue to appreciate them. I look forward to spreading the word about the Conservancy’s great work.”
