Place Based Education Program

Poudre River Ecology Partnership (PREP) is a place-based education program established in the community to give students and teachers the opportunity to learn the ecology of the watershed and teach topics such as science, mathematics, geography, and creative writing out-of-doors in their community.  Grades 3 through 6 from the Livermore, Red Feather Lakes and Stove Prairie Elementary Schools participate in classroom and field activities. Field study sites are located on private and public lands in the watershed.

Volunteers with an interest and experience in education and/or natural history are needed to assist on these field days. A one-day Teacher and Volunteer Training Workshop is held annually and will be offered again this fall.
