Help Install Bullfrog Enclosure Fence at 7B Ranch near Mammoth
Date/Time
Thursday, June 18, 2009, 8 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Overivew
This property has a hot spring and the wetland is important as native fish habitat. Keeping bullfrogs out of the wetland is essential to the conservation of the area. With a few volunteers we can complete this project in a few hours. The work will be moderately strenuous, but with the trees and water it will be a special Arizona setting.
The 7B Ranch hotspring is about 6 mi. by road from La Casita. The river crossing and road through the bosque are dry and passable by most vehicles. Carpooling is encouraged.
What to Wear
Hat, sturdy shoes/ work boots, pants, work gloves, sunscreen.
What to Bring
Water! Lunch/snacks and bug spray. We'll have plenty of extra water and snacks on hand.
More Information
The difficulty of this activity is rated as "moderately strenuous." Some shovel work may be required, but soil is soft. Mostly, it's just hot and humid.
All necessary tools will be provided at the hotspring. Tools include shovels, pliers, shears, and rakes. Dan Wolgast from The Nature Conservancy supervise this work day.
Meet in Mammoth in the dirt parking lot of La Casita Restaurant.
