About the Dominican Republic
The Dominican Republic covers the eastern two-thirds of the island of Hispaniola, which it shares with Haiti. The Nature Conservancy is working with its local partners to protect this rich array of dense mountainous forests, rich pine savannas, mangroves, coastlines, sand dunes, rivers and crocodile-filled saltwater lagoons. Offshore its waters harbor coral reefs, manatees and dolphins. |
