Nature’s Investment Bank: How Marine Protected Areas Contribute to Poverty Reduction (Executive Summary)
This policy brief summarizes the results and their relevance to conservation initiatives of a study conducted in four Marine Protected Areas in the Asia Pacific Region to determine whether and if so in what ways they are contributing to poverty reduction.

Nature’s Investment Bank: How Marine Protected Areas Contribute to Poverty Reduction (Full Report)
This study is one of the first to empirically analyze the link between biodiversity conservation initiatives and poverty reduction, to determine whether four particular marine protected areas have contributed to poverty reduction, and if so, why. The four study sites do not represent a random sample but were deliberately chosen because local experts believe they have contributed to poverty reduction.
