Brief Biography
Terry's work with The Nature Conservancy began in the mid-80s as part of the University of Virginia's LTER project on the Conservancy's Virginia Coast Reserve. His worked focused on the organization and ecology of barrier island systems. In 1992 began his career with the Conservancy as the Ecologist for the Texas Hill Country Bioreserve. He later served as the Director of Science and the Program Coordinator for the Texas Conservation Data Center. In 1998 Terry moved to Seattle as the Director of Conservation Science for the Washington Chapter. In 2003 Terry became the first Director of the Mid-Atlantic Conservation Science Center. Current research interests cover various aspects of landscape ecology, GIS, and remote sensing. Specifically Terry has been involved with the development of ecoregional conservation assessments, dynamic management of conservation information, and improving and refining the Conservancy's conservation process.
