About the Partnership

The Conservancy and Discovery Cove, part of the Busch Entertainment Corporation, have been partnering since 1996 to promote coral reef conservation through the Rescue the Reef program.

Discovery Cove was created to provide a whole new generation of guests the opportunity to interact more closely with beloved marine mammals. Busch Entertainment Corporation offers camps at its Sea World and Busch Gardens parks covering a wide range of subjects such as animal care, snorkeling and canoeing.

The Conservancy has been proud to participate in the Sea World/Busch Gardens Environmental Excellence Awards. These awards recognize the outstanding efforts of students who are working at the grass roots level to protect and preserve the environment.

The awards are offered in eight categories, each tied to a different nonprofit conservation and education partner. The Conservancy's award category, "Biodiversity Conservation Award," was designed to increase awareness of the importance of biodiversity.
