Kayak Symposium at The Valdivian Coastal Reserve

From October 30 – November 2 in the rivers and seas of southern Chile.

Calling all kayak fanatics! South America’s first sea kayaking symposium will be held October 30 - November 2 in the spectacular setting of Chaihuín in The Nature Conservancy’s Valdivian Coastal Reserve. With its amazing lakes, rivers and pacific coastline, there is no better location for a kayak symposium!

Some of the world’s top kayaking names will be at the event to inspire all kayakers, from beginners to veteran paddlers, children and adults. The main objective of the symposium is to promote kayaking as a fun activity for the whole family, and to position the southern Lake District as Chile’s kayaking capital.

The Nature Conservancy (TNC) is loaning out its campground in the Valdivian Coastal Reserve so that athletes have easy access to the river and to the Reserve’s facilities. TNC will also provide guides so that families and other visitors can enjoy the walks and excursions that reveal the amazing natural beauty of the Reserve’s Twin Lakes, Alerce Trails and Colún River. Other activities, from boat excursions to just relaxing at the picnic zone, will be available during the symposium.
