Managers of different CONAF Los Rios units met at the Valdivian Coastal Reserve (VCR) to plan their activities for the year. The event was attended by regional representatives and staff from the Ranco, Valdivia and Panguipulli branches as well as other professionals responsible for forestry and supervisory units.
Some of the issues discussed included road controls, storage facilities, property inspections and third-party claims, and participants decided on the dates on which each activity would take place as well as the distribution of each unit´s targets for the year.
For Antonio Carcamo, Regional Manager of the Insepection Unit of the Los Rios Region, the challenge is huge because there will be more activities than in prior years and those organized will be improved. "We were offered the offices of the Reserve because in Valdivia we find the peace we need to work and concentrate," he said.
Furthermore, Carcamo said that CONAF had an excellent partnership with The Nature Conservancy, managers of the Valdivian Coastal Reserve. "The infrastructure there is excellent and the relationship with TNC is even better," he said.
