Private Nature Reserves Network

TNC Argentina, together with other 19 NGOs has formed the Private Nature Reserves Network.

At present, there are 152 Private Nature Reserves in Argentina, covering more than 1.7 million acres and other 6 are under the process of being created

Private Reserves are born from the willing and interest of landowners that want to protect the natural patrimony of their lands and work as complement of public protected areas. In most cases, they harmonize biodiversity protection with some productive activities developed in a sustainable manner such as tourism, agriculture or ranching.

This initiative is part of the Empowering Conservation at Private Lands Project, coordinated by Vida Silvestre Foundation and funded by the “Fondo para las Americas”, and it´s aimed at promoting the voluntary conservation at private lands searching for synergies in the combined effort of all its members.
